Lunch at The Living Cafe, Singapore

Let’s be honest, we all know I haven’t been doing great health-wise this summer. White complex carbs and refined sugar have somehow snuck their way back into my everyday diet. As soon as I touched down to Singapore, Ming dragged me to The Living Cafe.

There was so much food you could buy and takeaway, and Ming pointed and shared about all the ones she had tried before and which the best were. The health freak inside me was thriving.

All the desserts looked insanely good. The fact that they were reasonably good for you just made it so much better.

Ming said the Raw German Chocolate Cake was very good.

However, she also said that the Raw Lemon Cheesecake was the best cheesecake she’d ever had, and it didn’t even taste like it was meant to be healthy. I mentally picked out which desserts I wanted to get for after but unfortunately it didn’t happen (you’ll see why later).

They sell a lot of health supplements, ingredients and books. If I spent more time in Singapore I would definitely have left here with bags full.

Juices are such a good way to slip in a load of nutrients.

Ming ordered the Green Vitality Cleanser whilst Mum ordered the Cold and Flu Buster.

My tastebuds still can’t handle such hardcore vegetable tastes in juices. I need them to be mixed with fruit so the sweetness will cover them up, so I went for the Recharger.

Breakfast looked so good. ‘Served till 12 Noon every day’. It was 12.30. FFS.

Mum ordered the Chicken Supreme Burger which was really good. She said her sweet potato wedges were too sweet? I thought they were delicious.

Ming got the Raw Zucchini Pesto Pasta. It’s made out of shredded zucchini, not actual pasta, so it’s completely raw. I didn’t think it would be that great as I don’t like zucchini, but it was soooo good. I love love love pesto.

I ordered the Raw Taco Boats. If you ever come here to eat, order these. It was incredible. It tasted like a nutty falafel laying on top of a mango chutney. I absolutely inhaled it (I’d just got off the plane so I was particularly hungry).

Okay, here’s the problem I currently have. I, for some reason, think it’s okay to start ordering two dishes when I go out to eat. I don’t think I intend to finish them, but I hate wasting food, and usually it’s so good, so I more-or-less lick both plates clean. This is why I couldn’t have dessert – because I was so full. Not good… After this meal I vowed to stop.
Anyway, I also ordered the TLC Cheeseburger, which was also completely raw.

It was good, but not as good as the taco boats. Yes, I finished it anyway. What’s wrong with me. There is a full stop instead of a question mark as it is a rhetorical question please don’t answer that.

We washed it down with a peppermint tea. I say ‘we’ – Ming ordered it and Mum and I stole half.

Sharing is caring, Ming. Guess who’s home!
