Best Burger: Special of the Month
As silly as it sounds, it really is an ‘honest’ burger. A pure, clean-cut burger. I completely understand all the hype around it – the patty was cooked to a medium-rare perfection, the bun was perfectly toasted, and all the condiments worked together like a symphony. And did I mention those rosemary chips?

2. Patty & Bun
Best Burger: Ari Gold
Incredible. If a queue isn’t what you’re keen on, get there on a non-peak time or get a takeaway (which I do pretty often). The patty is cooked to a juicy perfection, the cheese, onion, bacon, everything was all delicious, and it was all tucked into a sweet brioche bun that was perfectly toasted.
3. Mother Flipper
Best Burger: Double Candy Bacon Flipper
Find them wherever they may be, and it’ll be worth it. A short menu means they’re good at what they do, and when I say good, they’re pretty damn good. Not a thing out of place from what easily is a burger close to perfection.
4. Lucky Chip
Best Burger: Kevin Bacon
You won’t see this coming, but this is probably one of the best burgers you’ll ever have. It’s one of those burgers that you’ll tell everybody you know about for the next few weeks. Or forever. The almighty bacon burger.
5. Elliot’s Café
Best Burger: Elliot’s Cheeseburger
The only burger on the menu, but boy is it a good one. Pop down for a burger and a beer when you can, like the majority of the people eating there. Sure, the other food is pretty amazing, but oh, the burger. The most amazing quality burger. A patty from The Ginger Pig, Comté cheese, beer-battered onions, dill butter and a freshly baked sweet brioche bun. Sigh.
6. MEATliquor
Best Burger: Dead Hippie
The dirtiest of all burgers. It’s heavy, it’s sickly, but boy is it good. It’s what a Big Mac should taste like, really. Their Dead Hippie sauce is what makes the burger. Basically, you can’t go here and not order the Dead Hippie. It’s just wrong.
7. Bar Boulud
Best Burger: The BB Burger
The selection of burgers here are pretty fantastic. ‘The Yankee’, ‘The Frenchie’ and ‘The Piggie’ are all winners, but the real baby is the BB Burger. A succulent beef patty topped with heaven (including foie grass, red wine braised short ribs and truffle) makes this burger a very memorable one.
8. Bleecker St. Burger
Best Burger: Double Cheeseburger
If you want a simple, delicious burger, go for the Cheeseburger. If you want a little summin’ summin’, get the Bacon Cheeseburger. But their Double Cheeseburger is award-winning for a reason. A juicy, delicious American burger. Only acceptable when accompanied by their Angry Fries.
9. Spit & Roast
Best Burger: Buttermilk Fried Chicken Bap
Burger, bap, whatever. It’s making the list. Chicken burgers are usually left behind, but not this baby. In fact, I may put this on the top of the list above all beef burgers, it was THAT good. The most tender chicken, lightly fried, topped with slaw and Korean hot sauce. Absolute perfection. Probably the best thing you’ll ever eat. And no, I’m not being overdramatic this time.
10. The Slider Bar
Best Burger: The Short Rib
These sliders deserve to make the list. The ones worth spending time and money on are the Short Rib, the Classic, and obviously the Double Classic. The patties are perfectly cooked, their combinations are absolutely scrumptious, and their petite size means you can try more of them. Winner.
Have you tried @burgershake? My mouths watering just thinking about their burgers!
Peckhamite.blogspot.com
Street kitchen make great burgers, as do burger bear, would both be in my top 10
Bianca, come on now. What about dip 'n' flip?
This was from the start of 2014 I swear!! I really need to make an updated list!
