We’re in Cannes, baby!
So it’s our first night, and Dad loves to ask the concierge where to eat. I don’t protest, since it’s a busy time and most places will be fully booked, so I’m happy to go wherever recommended and not push anywhere! He pointed us towards Chez Astoux for some seafood lovin’.
And rosé lovin’….
We are on holiday, after all.
And, of course, the seafood.
To start us off was some french bread. Oui oui.
And to go with that, snails. You know, casual.
More plates of fish were brought out to show us what goods they had, and just how fresh they were.
Once we decided on what fish we were going to all share, I declared that we all need to have oysters to start. My one priority.
Boy got me hooked when we went to Sete and I’M NEVER LOOKING BACK.
We also got a nice little seafood platter. Mmmmm.
Hamish was clearly ready to tuck in.
… As was I.
Then the fish came. Oh yeahhh.
Grilled to perfection.
And our sides.
The mash was incredible, the rice went with it all surprisingly well, the ratatouille was INSANELY good (I did not expect it at all) and the vegetables were fine.
A great meal for our first night there. I’m glad we went with his suggestion. Nom nom nom.
Can we kick it? Yes we Cannes… (sorry not sorry).
