The Intercontinental Carlton’s beach restaurant in Cannes is undoubtedly our favourite place to lunch here. Maybe because we’ve stayed in the hotel twice before (we weren’t there during this trip though) and it was convenient. Maybe also because we don’t really know many other stellar places around.
Because it’s a holiday, it’s acceptable to drink at lunchtime.
Then we focused on the good stuff.
And more bread. Oh you beautiful bundles of carbs.
Nicole ordered something (saarrryyyy I should have got the name) but it’s prosciutto that you wrap around your asparagus. Or just be boring and cut it up and eat it together, whatever.
Grandma ordered…. Also something. Another type of salad. Salad is the way to go here, they are the bomb. I think it’s why everyone’s so beautiful and skinny.
The rest of us? The Seafood Salad. At least I’m pretty sure that’s what it’s actually called – that’s what we call it anyway!
It’s my favourite of the salads here.
It was all great until it started raining. There are only umbrellas to cover us, so the staff quickly pushed them all together.
Unfortunately, the water is always going to build up somewhere. Not only did it leak through the little gaps, but every now and again the water would build up too much and gush down.
Cue a wet table. And wet everything.
We powered through (hard life I know) and got coffees and teas to start the rest of the afternoon!
We came back again the next day. You wouldn’t have guessed, would ya?
I got an Asian dish with grilled salmon the next time, which I also highly recommend. Nom nom nom!
