It’s amazing finding out that someone awesome works literally 2 minutes away from your office. But you know when it sucks? When you find out on their last week of work. Boo.
Ellie and I decided to make the most of our time together though, so we got up extra early before work to meet for breakfast. Actually, I think she might have actually stopped working at this point…. Okay, well, we met for breakfast. That’s the point I’m trying to make. I wanted to go somewhere on my list, so we headed to Look Mum No Hands!, a cafe that celebrates good food, beer and biking.
They even have a bike workshop at their Old Street location.
They sell a lot of things apart from food too.
And biking accessories…
They also have a really nice outdoor area. And, of course, space for your bike…
And did I mention the pastries?
I bought a Peanut Butter & Banana Vegan Brownie for a snack later at work (it was delicious, if you were wondering).
I coffee-d up and scanned the menu whilst waiting for Ellie.
Soon enough, she was sat opposite me with her very own cup of caffeine.
You’ve got to order at the bar, so we went up and ordered our breakfast before we got carried away with conversation.
Needless to say, we were hungry girls first thing in the morning.
Ellie went for the Black Pudding Breakfast, which was two slices of Stornoway black pudding, crispy bacon, fried egg on sourdough toast with caramalised onion-tomato chutney.
I couldn’t resist the Salmon Breakfast – Smoked salmon, scrambled egg, avocado, spinach, lemon wedge and sourdough toast. More or less my ideal breakfast.
The only bit of silence that morning was when we had our mouths full.
Both were delicious. Such a nice place, I would recommend a visit!
We then skidaddled off and she walked me to work. What a sweetie pie. As I walked in, the MD glanced at his watch then at me since I was – wait for it – 9 minutes late. I pretended not to see him and kept walking. I REGRET NOTHING, SALMON BREAKFAST.
