My hunt for the best coffee spots in Copenhagen continues. Today was somewhere that I know will make it on my Top 10, and even my Top 5, hands down.
We arrived there to find a sign on the door “Closed between 2 – 2:30 Today (Thursday).” It was Thursday. It was 2:10. Fantastic. Of course this would happen to us. We strolled around until just before 2:30, refusing to go home until we’d had our coffees, when we saw that they’d opened up their doors again. Yes!
I was excited about alll the different coffees I could get. There were so many different filtering processes available, I actually didn’t even have a cllue. I was so used to saying “Fitler Coffee” and just expecting one kind.
They roasted all their beans in house. Always a winner.
Suddenly I saw all these filter appartatus and got very, very excited.
And the different beans I could get.
Even Espresso Martinis?!
AND GAMES. THEY HAD GAMES.
We vowed to come back for Espresso Martinis and some poker.
There’s even a piano. I’m still unsure if a professional comes to play in the evenings (which would be awesome), or if customers just sit in front of it and do their thing. I can play “Ode To Joy” if that helps a brother out at all.
The man behind the counter was so lovely. He asked me what filtering process I wanted, and after I said I hadn’t a clue about any of them, I asked what would look best. He then got very excited, and ran straight towards this and set it up.
I’m pretty sure this is the Syphon (just looking at the menu here). He said it was an old Scandinavian filtering technique.
He then asked what beans I wanted. I went with whatever he recommended.
He grinded them up in a machine which took 3 seconds then popped it in.
I continued to be fascinated by it the entire process.
The other girls got slightly simpler orders.
A Cappuccino for Bea.
And a Chai Latte for Hayden. I think she got him to recreate a Dirty Hippie, which is a Chai Latte with Soy Milk and a shot of Espresso.
I was super happy with how mine was going. He asked if I wanted anything with it, and he kind of beamed with happiness when I asked for it black.
We grabbed our seats at the back of the cafe, where we snuggled into the sofa and got out our laptops to do some travel planning and various other things.
Bea also got a panini, which she said was delicious.
Really, really great spot for some amazing coffee and a chilled vibe.
