Ming’s Birthday at Sticks’N’Sushi, London

Last week, I made a little trip home for my big sister’s birthday. I wasn’t planning on it at first, but then I remembered that time I was 16 and she flew to Singapore for less than 24 hours to make my party. Way to make me feel like a dick. I booked my ticket after that.

Not only would I be celebrating with my favourite person in the world, but we’d be celebrating at Sticks’N’Sushi. And we know how much I love Sticks’N’Sushi. Funny that it’s from Copenhagen and I just flew from there…

To be honest, we could have got a curry takeaway and it’d still be just as great. Actually, we both really, really love curry takeaway. We’re butter chicken and garlic naan kind of girls.

It was a girls-only dinner, which was really nice. Lots of chatting, lots of presents.

And…. Lots of sushi.

I was on a vegan week so I had a good, hard look at the menu since I couldn’t share with everyone. Thankfully, there were a few options so my dinner was delicious. Hello, fried cauliflower with black sesame truffle sauce (insanely good).

Then, there was cake.

Not just any cake. This masterpiece was vegan and refined-sugar free.

HOW CRAZY IS THAT? ISN’T IT BEAUTIFUL?

It was a beautiful vanilla caramel layered cake from Delight Bakes.

Sticks’N’Sushi are really good about cakes. They have candles, put it on a board and even wrote a cute little ‘Happy B-Day’ message.

It’s safe to say Ming was a very happy bunny.

It literally blew our minds that this was vegan. Check those beautiful coconut cream roses and barberries around it.

So, so, good.

Afterwards, some of us headed to Maggie’s and Boy joined us too. You may have seen pictures on Instagram. If you have, I’m sorry.
