Breakfast at Sam’s Kitchen, Bath

The little gems in Bath just keep on coming. I’m going to be a master of all the little hideouts of this city come May.

This time, I was meeting my friend Ellie for a catch-up since I haven’t seen her since that time at Look Mum No Hands! She suggested meeting at Sam’s Kitchen, a little place she loves and I’ve never been to. So it sounded pretty ideal. And of course, it didn’t take long for me to fall head over heels with this place too.

It was early by uni standards, so we quickly got ourselves some coffees.

For breakfast, there didn’t seem to be a menu. Instead, we were told the two options that they had today, which strangely enough I kind of enjoyed. It was different and it seemed a lot more authentic and seasonal somehow.

We both opted for the second option, which was a delicious mixture of sourdough toast, poached eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and something called ‘white pudding’, which was apparently like black pudding but without the blood.

Okay, so I don’t know if it was just me being stupid, but I assumed that meant white pudding was a veggie thing. Sadly it wasn’t, so I had to scrape it to the side and a little part of me cried as I wasted the food.

But the rest of it was delicious. A not-so-secret little gem in Bath, everyone I’ve spoken to about it seems to gush about it. I’m going to take Boy when he visits to remind him how cool and in-the-know I am.
