There’s not a lot that beats bottomless brunch. Apart from, well, bottomless brunch on a Wednesday. Actually, at Daisy Green Food you can have it any day of the week! God I love my job.
I’d never actually been to Daisy Green Food before, so I was pretty damn excited to head over there. Once you get in, it’s a cute coffee bar with lots of salads and incredible pastries on the counter. Silly me, I thought that was it. Head downstairs and you’ll find a glorious space that’ll have you running around like children.
At first I wanted to sit in that cute cubby hole outside, but it was a little chilly so Alex and I headed back to the flower-painted brick walls.
What to eat?
Bottomless brunch, obviously.
With a cold item to start things off, followed by a hot item, we were preparing for a feast.
And how better to prepare than Mimosas?
That is the face of happiness, my friends.
Starting things off for me was their Famous Banana Bread Sandwich. How could I not have it if it’s famous? The two slices are loaded with mascarpone, fresh berries, flaked almonds and honey.
Alex is gluten-free, so she opted for the Summer Porridge – coconut, quinoa, chia & flaxseed porridge, fresh berries, activated almonds, candied seeds, freeze dried berries, flowers and bee pollen.
It was delicious, but I was already pretty full. That’s a normal breakfast portion, you know.
We braced ourselves as the next dishes arrived. Oh god, why did they have to look so delicious?
I went for their Shakshouka – Baked free range eggs with spiced tomatoes and labne served with organic cold fermented activated charcoal (spot that sourdough bread in the back!)
Alex ordered Broccoli & Corn Fritters, served with avocado, poached free range egg and house made chilli pesto.
Great brunch. Better bottomless. As we walked out, there were queues for salads which we were a little jealous about, but obviously we were stuffed full and had to look away, but Alex did quickly grab herself a coffee. Daisy Green Food, you star!
