I’m a great list maker. I make lists of everything I need to do, want to do, places I want to eat (I’m sure if you love food as much as I do, you have that ‘Places I Need To Eat At’ note on your phone with a bazzillion places). Mine rarely get checked off, mostly because I’m always busy and/or places are so far away that it seems silly to go for a coffee.
Well, I woke up with one of those ‘DO-SOMETHING-NEW-EVERY-DAY!’ attitudes which only last a couple of days, but make the most of it while it hits you! That’s how I travelled an hour to Hackney for a coffee at Palm Vaults.
I’d seen it on Instagram, and it made my list instantly, along with a few screenshots of how cute their interior was.
It was full of babes working away. I assured myself that’d be me if I lived closer, working on a pink table every morning. That’s the dream.
I know it’s been a while, but you haven’t actually been formally introduced (unless you follow me on Instagram!)
This is Pickles, my little Boxer. Well, ours. People are putting a ring on it this season, and we got a puppy instead. I think we win.
She enjoyed her coffee trip, mostly because the girls swarmed over her. She was thriving in her element, which seems to be adoration.
I was thriving because I’d gotten a pink coffee – it’s normally without caffeine, but I asked for coffee to be added, and for it to be made with soy milk. The pink is from beetroot, which I don’t usually like, but this was nom nom. They do all sorts of colours made naturally.
And yes, I did ask this nice woman if I could use the edge of her table to photograph my coffee. I shed my pride long ago.
Puppy friendly, colourful coffees and tables, and the nicest staff (they put Pickles on their Instagram and everything, this girl is a star). Pop in for a bite (lots of vegan options) or sit down for a few hours with your laptop and feel like a boss ass bitch.
